Interesting place for a committee meeting...
Doug Mill (with ADR & Midland Board Member), Jeff Barcus (Midland Theatre), and myself met today on the roof of the Midland Theatre to observe the heat tape that was placed around the downspouts and some minor but important repair work. Doug is the chair of the Midland Theatre building committee. Well, anyone close to me knows that I am afraid of heights... would walk against the wall at City Center, I hate the escalator that goes 4 stories at Lambeau and I didn't even change the net on my own basketball hoop (yeah, I know). Well, we made it to the roof, I even climbed up the old rusty ladder (barely bolted in) to the 2nd level. Saw the tape, nodded my head...great, ready to head back down. Come to find out the tape is in 3 other corners. I opted to stay put while my hands sweated... My hand didn't leave the railing. I am thankful that Doug and Jeff are focused. Happy to be back at my desk. Sort of.NEW LISTING: STEWART ROAD, NEWARK

PRACTICE
FOR THE PAST FEW WEEKS JILL HAS BEEN GETTING UP EVERY MORNING AT 5:15 AND RUNNING A LITTLE OVER 3 MILES. YESTERDAY SHE PARTICIPATED IN HER FIRST 5K RUN IN COSHOCTON AT LAKE PARK. THERE WERE SOME INCLINES THROUGHOUT THE RUN, A LITTLE DIFFERENT THAN HER DAILY NEIGHBORHOOD ROUTE. JILL RAN THE ENTIRE RACE NOT STOPPING ONCE TO WALK. I AM IMPRESSED AND PROUD. I STOOD AT THE FINISH LINE WAITING FOR HER TO CROSS AND I NOTICED WHAT THE OTHER RUNNERS WERE DOING WHEN THEY FINISHED. SOME WERE STRETCHING, SOME WERE PACING, ONE GIRL EVEN CONTINUED RUNNING AND CALLED IT HER "COOL DOWN" RUN. JILL CROSSES THE FINISH LINE, VEERS TO THE SIDE HANDS ON HER HIPS...I SAY "GREAT JOB! YOU NEED ANYTHING?"... JILL RESPONDS, "AN NICE COLD BEER, YOU KNOW, WITH THE ICE FORMING ON TOP?" SHE SETTLED FOR A COMPLIMENTARY BOTTLE OF WATER. NOTE: ROSCOE VILLAGE DOES HAVE A BAR.
JILL SAID THE BEST PART OF THE RACE WAS THE PARK SCENERY... I CAN IMAGINE THAT MEANS THAT SHE ENJOYED THE BIRDS, SQUIRRELS, DUCKS...OPPOSED TO HER NORMAL NEIGHBORHOOD WILDLIFE (SCHALLER, FRYE, EVANS).

Rituals for Snow Days: Silver Spoons and Inside Out Clothes...
I was showing a home this morning in Pataskala to a Mother of 3. Since I was only showing one home, the kids remained at home with Dad while we tromped through the snow for the showing. I asked her if the kids were pumped up for the snow day and she said the kids did their routine. Come to find out, kids now have superstitions and routines that they do the night before hoping to wake up to a school cancellation. Here are a few that I found out...February 8, 2010
Beer may be good for your bones....
A cold brew has high levels of dietary silicon, analysis showsWhile researchers don't recommend gulping beer to meet your silicon intake needs, a new study shows the potential health benefits of a cold brew.
If you downed one too many while watching the Super Bowl, here's at least one reason to hold your head high: Drinking beer can be good for your health.
But seriously, a new analysis of 100 commercial beers shows the hoppy beverage is a significant source of dietary silicon, a key ingredient for bone health.

Add ons are important...after the fact & THE WORLDS Greatest neighbor...
BTW - Jerry Nethers is the greatest neighbor in the world. If Toys R Us carried the Jerry Nethers super hero action figure he would be equipped with a snow blower. I am glad he is in such great shape because I have a lot of road frontage.
